A pumpkin carving party! What a wonderful way for our family to enjoy the current pumpkin obsession. We pretended it was fall here for an afternoon and gathered up with friends to celebrate the season and its goodness.

The sweet and wonderful Chelsea hosted this event for us all. She not only made this adorable sign with puff-paint but also took all the pics on this post since I forgot my camera. She is pretty awesome like that.

It was the twins first experience with actual live pumpkins. They are use to eating the mashed up stuff but being able to grab in and actually feel the slimy skin was a whole new experience for them. If you are in need of a baby activity this week I would highly recommend digging in pumpkins, it is thoroughly entertaining to watch.

We laid a huge tarp down on the floor so that all the babies could crawl around climbing over each other and enjoying the pumpkins.

For subsequent carving parties I believe we will do the carving and de-seeding up nice and high as it ended up being a challenge to keep those wandering little hands from the knives and choke worthy seeds.

Let’s be honest no other vegetable is quite this amazing. No one hosts a party to experience broccoli, just another reason why the great pumpkin is fabulous.

After enjoying the pumpkins, the babies played while the parents enjoyed pizza and champagne. It was lovely fall afternoon.

we have 6 pumpkins so far…and no pictures as cute as yours!!! i think i need to take a class in photography!
