The Great Pumpkin Obsession, Part 3

10.22.09 Posted in Momhood, diy by Vicky

We picked out a juicy, large, yummy looking pumpkin last week.

Seeing as how we have already carved pumpkins and not wanting to repeat the seeds, knives, babies fiasco again this fall I decided on an alternative pumpkin decorating scheme.

This pumpkin has been inspired by many blogs I have seen using everything from acrylics to chalk-board paint to create beautiful pumpkins. I love the idea of painting pumpkins. My only requirements were that I could not spend any money and it had to take less than 10 minutes. Luckily, I had a little spray paint left from another project and true to my wishes it took exactly 8 minutes from start to finish.

I cut out the face for the pumpkin from paper and double side taped it on. I also covered the stem with tin-foil.

Then we took a trip out back and sprayed it down. An hour later I removed the paper and tape.

I love how inviting it seems when entering our home. Honestly, it is really hard to beat a happy faced pumpkin!

Happy pumpkining…
