Everyone sang one happy birthday song to my two little babies. I felt a tear well up in my eye and pushed it aside allowing myself to enjoy this moment with them.
He loved the singing, the attention and the cupcakes- eating it all up as if he was famished. She on the other hand screamed at the candle flame (can you see her look of horror above, “Mom, not a step closer”)! She warmed up quickly though as the sugar from the cupcake entered her mouth.
The cupcakes were honestly some of the best I have had in my life. A Barefoot Contessa recipe and a grandma with mad baking skills made for a well feed party. They were topped with love…
They were also topped with a nice collection of orange fuzzy balloon picks that will soon be available in my new etsy shop, but we will save the talk about that exciting news for another day soon- stay tuned…
I hope you enjoy hearing about the twins birthday festivities. It was so fun to create and I am loving the chance to share it with you all.
As a special treat I have a giveaway today- a Sprinkles Mixture of cupcakes, your choice of flavor, thanks to Williams-Sonoma.
To enter you just have to tell me what is your favorite cupcake to eat? Mine is either the Chocolate-Orange at Heavenly Cupcakes in San Diego or the carrot-cupcake pictured above, yum! I will be closing the comment section Friday night at midnight and will choose a winner at random.

Too cute! My fav is chocolate peanut butter @ Sprinkles. Mmmmmm!
I love any cupcake that has lots of chocolate

I love coconut-vanilla cupcakes with cool whip frosting
I love anything chocolate! The best are my mom’s cherry chocolate cupcakes with (*surprise*) chocolate frosting!
My mom’s cupcakes are still my favorite.
I heart any cupcake from Kick*ss Cupcakes in Somerville, MA. And it HAS to be eaten like a sandwich : pull off the bottom of your cupcake and put it on top of the frosting….cupcakes are better that way!
I love chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing. Yum
My favorite cupcakes are red velvet with lots of cream cheese frosting!
Two favorites (so hard to choose) – the double dose cupcake whipper snapper from Hey Cupcake in Austin (love it!) or a chocolate cinnamon cupcake with cinnamon frosting that my friend made up a recipe for to match my wedding cake flavors!

My favorite are these dark chocolate chip pumpkin with cream cheese frosting that I just started making and can’t get enough of. I’m thinking about opening up my own cupcake stand when I get back to Australia….those Aussies need to know what good desserts are really like!
