Home tour: the hood + a giveaway

01.05.10 Posted in City lovin, Momhood by Vicky

Welcome to the first in a month of smatterings about our new home. Today I thought I would start with our neighborhood, which I have to say I am head over heels in love with. All of the houses surrounding us are cute-distinct-older-colorful and not at all the beige-stucco-boxes we are used to.

We took a walk yesterday and I shot a few pictures of the things surrounding us that make me happy. It completely embarrassed my husband that I was snapping away in our neighbors front lawns, and he surely would not let me sneak in a shot of the drawbridge. Seriously, we have a working drawbridge in our neighborhood- how fun is that? I also left alone the sleeping dog by the beautiful red door, although it would have been a great picture of this place.

One of the shots is of our new home, can you guess which one? Take a stab at it in the comment section and win a pair (that is 2) side chair slipcovers from Pottery Barn in red to spruce up your current home whether it’s a stucco box or not.

(A very happy palm tree)

(One lovely knocker)

(Fruit through a white picket fence)

(The paint chipped beauty of age)

(A sprite tree, grin.)

* Contest rules

  • Just leave a comment to be entered- guessing which picture you think is from our new place. You don’t have to be right to win, just guess.
  • If you REALLY want to up your chances at winning you could post a picture on your blog of your own “hood” with a link to my post and I will let you enter twice- just leave the link with your second comment.
  • I will close comments Sunday at 10pm and pick a winner at random- maybe it will be you?!?

blessings.

  47. is it the sprite tree? Citrus trees are a funny thing — they produce SO MUCH! . . . If it IS yours, you will be giving a TON of fruit out to people. If it’s the neighbor’s, you might be surprised with grocery bags filled with them. :)

  48. ANA CELINA says:

  49. [...] The answer to our neighborhood trivia last week was…. The paint chipped beauty of age. [...]
