I had planned today to show you the lamp I am making for our front room. However, at the last minute I decided to go in a different direction with it and turned a 20 minute project into something that may take me 300 years! I will let you know when it is done.
In the meantime, a simple solution for renters everywhere.
I have carried these sconces around for 3 years waiting for the perfect spot for them. They match our chandelier that my hubby has taken out and rewired every time we move (he also does the ceiling fan and the nursery light for me) making him basically the best ever.
After much begging he (rightly so) decided against my advice to break into the walls of our rental and install hard wiring, but I desperately wanted to hang the pretty sconces anyway. At first I just thought they would be for decoration but then I found these battery operated push button lights. Genius!
Adhered to the top of the scone shade with sticky velcro. The simplest hard-wire solution ever.
A simple click when we want light and it is just like they are hardwired, but not, they are fake-wired.
Fakebatteryvelcrowired- my kind of decorating.
blessings.

That is brilliant! I may have to borrow the idea to add by my fireplace.
Sweet. I’ve always wanted sconces above our bed, but the huz doesn’t want to have to do the electrical work. Nice solution! May have to steal it
