Handcrafted Parties- polka dot beauty

05.25.10 Posted in Hand-Crafted Parties, design by Vicky

I am really excited to share today’s feature with you. Jessica from a little gray sent in these pictures of a little girls birthday party she recently threw for friends, it quickly became known as, “polkapallozza”. The birthday party was bright and cheery and just a perfect look for spring.

Jessica found inspiration from a few of my recent designs and made her own doughnut hole tree using mini pink hostess cakes and strawberries.

She also recreated the spray painted vases that pop up at many of my events. Instead of chalk-board paint Jessica used red acrylic paint. I love how whimsically girlish they look.

You all know by now that I am obsessed with felt circles, Jessica and I must be on the same wave length as there were multiple beautiful strands of them cut out to hang behind her dessert table. She also made a lovely banner out of card stock circles to announce the reason for celebration.

Lastly, in place of real flowers- vases of fabric ones perfectly coordinated with the polka dot theme. Jessica used this no-sew tutorial to make the roses that will last well beyond the parties end. Plus she reused glass jars to place them in- my kind of party!

What a lovely party for a sweet little girl! Our household has been sick the last few days and having a chance to post these pictures brings a smile to my weary heart. Thanks for brightening my day Jessica by sharing your beauty with us.

blessings.

P.S. This is a multiple party feature week, more great and beautiful designs are coming! If you’d like to be considered for our handcrafted party feature please see here for submission guidlines.
